Building Partnerships at the B.I.G. Construction Mixer – DISD Event Recap
This month, Segura Construction Group had the privilege of attending the B.I.G. Construction Mixer hosted by the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). The event brought together a wide range of contractors, vendors, suppliers, and public sector leaders for an afternoon focused on building stronger partnerships within the local construction community.
From the moment we walked in, it was clear this wasn’t just another networking event. The energy was focused, the turnout was strong, and the information shared was not only practical but empowering. Every speaker came prepared with thoughtful, strategic insight—ranging from bonding and certification opportunities to procurement processes and project forecasting. As a company committed to excellence and continuous growth, we were encouraged to see such an intentional effort to support and elevate minority-owned and community-based businesses.
We had the opportunity to connect with several promising subcontractors and potential partners, all of whom shared a similar vision of quality work, local impact, and long-term relationships. These kinds of face-to-face conversations are vital to what we do—not just for the business cards exchanged, but for the genuine relationships formed and trust built in the process.
At Segura Construction Group, our foundation is built on community, integrity, and faith-led leadership. Events like this remind us why we do what we do—and who we do it for. We’re always looking to partner with individuals and organizations who are just as committed to making a difference through construction as we are.
To all the DISD organizers and speakers—thank you for your time, your preparation, and your investment in local builders like us. We look forward to what’s ahead and are excited for the doors this event has opened.
Let’s build something great—together.
